About Us

Capt Jonathan Warren, Director of Maritime Training Limited, founded the Company to provide quality training to maritime professionals, both online and in person where possible.

He has sailed in all of the capacities as a deck officer at sea in a wide variety of vessels, starting out as a cadet in the late 70s, finishing his seagoing career in command shortly before the turn of the century, and since then has been ashore in a variety of capacities, Senior Marine Superintendent (Deck), Crew Management, Harbour Master,  College and University Lecturer.

He has a proven track record as an educator over the past 18 years, and has been instrumental in the education of hundreds of cadets and students during this time.  In addition to being an STCW-qualified mariner and a Lancaster University trained professional educator, he holds a Masters of Science degree in Maritime Studies, is an OCR Level 3 assessor, and is an RYA shore-based instructor.

Maritime Training Limited seeks to provide the same level of high quality education that students enjoy in the classroom, mainly virtually.  The advantage of training through MTL over the classroom situation is that you benefit from one-to-one teaching at best, or at worst, in a small group of up to four people.

We offer a wide variety of training, from standard STCW courses to bespoke Harbour Master training.  We are available to teach you the knotty problems associated with RYA shore-based courses, especially if you are a complete novice to maritime matters.
